Therapy

Making music, writing prose, making mixes, etc has been just this for me for a long long time. So long, I don’t remember when it became so.

To me it has always been since before the first piece of prose I wrote or some random tune I plucked on the piano.

What is your therapy?

Do you wonder why
Why fire drives me so
Dispensing poetic
Rhythm from my soul

It’s the only way
I know to remain sane
To gather in the flood
To control the flame

A struggle versus the forces of nature
An epoch fight on a singular journey
To defy the test of time
To delay expiring on a gurney

The success I may have
Is all relative my dear
I could be fine for now
And still be gone next year

Day 48

So, apparently I am “so Long Beach”. I was just told this by one of my new friends here.

This is the same couple who allowed me to impromptu DJ their Pride party a few weeks ago. Pride weekend in Long Beach is a bit ahead of the national Pride celebration.

I will be providing the music vibe for another of their private affairs this coming weekend.

I guess I get to be “so Long Beach” again.

I’ll be quite OC as well as I get to DJ a private event down in Dana Point the following weekend.

I think I could get used to this. Hehehehe…

It was little rough to start as I did not pack a regular microphone. But I still was able to pull out the old school trick of using headphones as a mic.

Blue Jeans

Well here it is. I have put it back out there.

This was my remix of Lana Del Rey’s Blue Jeans that I did a few years ago. A friend of mine in Charleston, SC was asking for it.

I personally think it goes well with her new candle and gifts company. I also think it fits my Long Beach, CA stay a bit as well.

Stay On Top Of Me

My latest #BSB show was posted not too long ago. It was a bit late as I was mourning the lost of a dear friend and someone who I was engaged to at one point recently. Due to some extenuating circumstances, I called off the engagement.

However, her influence in my life is greater than many even in my inner circle may have realized until recently. As kids one of our favorite past times was seeing if we could surprise each other with new music. It was a ‘thing’ we resumed doing as adults after we reconnected and then more so after becoming engaged to one another.

I don’t recall too many songs, bands, or producers that she would pick that I didn’t like–and I am talking about ones that I had no clue about and likely I would not have come across based on the way I digitally or physically crate dig.

Anyway, I start off the BSB0028 with SOTOM (Sandy’s Version).
