BSB0037 — Brand Spanking Bought

My latest #BSB show is now available.

I was having a bit of equipment trouble in my home studio, so I reached for Alexander Robotnick‘s Problems D’amour on the LP, The Dark Side of Disco, to begin the show. This is the L.O.V.[e] selection of this BSB podcast.

Funny, my love life, or more accurately stated my lack of love life, could probably be described through that song too. Ha!

I have been definitely barking up the wrong proverbial trees. Maybe I just need to find a different forest, eh?

In addition, I dropped a track from the middle of show entirely. I’ll likely re-introduce it in another show soon. It just didn’t fit as well as I initially thought it would. So I ditched it.

All-in-all, I think you will like the group of music put together for the December show.

BSB0036 — Brand Spanking Bought

Yesterday, I posted my latest BSB show to Mixcloud.

I have to say that this show came together quite easily. Many times it is a lot more work than many people probably imagine.

Soon, I will talk a bit more expansively about my process in future postings, but for now let’s just say it’s not so simple. So I relish in the times when things seem to jell pretty quickly.

It’s a good feeling.

BSB0032 — Brand Spanking Bought

Here is the BSB show for July!

Inside get a glimpse of some of the hottest tracks I have added to my collection over the past 30 days.

There is a two song look back into the private gig for a friends birthday in Orange County.

Plus we finish off the mix with a Baltimore House Music Legend.

Stay On Top Of Me

My latest #BSB show was posted not too long ago. It was a bit late as I was mourning the lost of a dear friend and someone who I was engaged to at one point recently. Due to some extenuating circumstances, I called off the engagement.

However, her influence in my life is greater than many even in my inner circle may have realized until recently. As kids one of our favorite past times was seeing if we could surprise each other with new music. It was a ‘thing’ we resumed doing as adults after we reconnected and then more so after becoming engaged to one another.

I don’t recall too many songs, bands, or producers that she would pick that I didn’t like–and I am talking about ones that I had no clue about and likely I would not have come across based on the way I digitally or physically crate dig.

Anyway, I start off the BSB0028 with SOTOM (Sandy’s Version).

With You

This track originally grabbed me for it’s sublime yet understated flavor. It hits you but not too hard.

…I Feel Good | Download

Think of it like the warmth of sunshine on your face in late winter or early spring. Soothing. Warm. Inviting. But certainly not beating you down with oppressive heat as it can be in the middle of summer.

I included it in this mix because it started to lift the energy of the compilation as a whole while leaving plenty of head room for the journey.

Life and Fiction

I never knew that when I thought of this idea for this track that it would turn out to be very apropos. I am speaking about this age of so-called “Alternative Facts”.

It is indeed fact “At some point you have to choose between life and fiction. The two are very close, but they never actually touch.”

Yes, I dream. It’s not that I don’t. Rather I don’t live in dream land. Instead I rather actively work toward making those dreams a reality.

Where those dreams can be actualized is good. Where life points elsewhere, only a fool would continue to rail against life as if it was a personal vendetta.

Just being stuck in ‘dream land’ doesn’t gain you anything and one is not being a student of life.

What dream are you pursuing and turning into life? How has a life lesson altered a dream?

So the other day I laid down the my BSB show. It was so much fun.

There is a bit of soulful at the top before I go a little booty shakin’ dirty with the beats. As usual, I am active on the mixer as any good DJ would be versus doing the absolute minimum behind the decks.

Feel free to let me know what you think of the music selection and the style bought to the performance.

BSB0025 — Brand Spanking Bought

I actually ended up recording this show more than once. I have been testing broadcasting live to various social media channels. This one was to Facebook.

I might do Twitter the next time. I still have to record a mix for DeepTechFM and my man Christauff.

The videos will only be up for a short period of time. To hear the full mix press play below. A download link for offline listening will be posted soon as well.

Inside this one is also a hot remix of my track Bodymore by new comer to mGrooves Music, Dan Gee.

BSB0024 — Brand Spanking Bought

Got down with a new  radio show and podcast over the weekend.

Truth be told it’s been tough trying to catch up. However, music is my escape. And I much needed this release.

This episode starts off with my previous release Fridays Alone from the Blazing Eyes EP and features another one of my favorite throwback tracks called Black Man in Space. I then break some freshness on ya from, Fly Never Dies —  new to my mGrooves Music label, Burnski, and Tiga.
